Commissions at Grace Episcopal Church

Each Vestry member works on one of four commissions:

The Worship Commission

Responsible for the worship structure and experience at the church, setting the tome and program, under the leadership of the Rector. All aspects of the worship experience are this Commission's responsibility, including music, altar guild, ushers, acolytes, decoration, order and tenor of the service. This requires significant coordination among these groups who together execute the service.

The Study Commission

Responsible for providing opportunities for personal, spiritual, and educational growth to all members of the Grace Church community. This includes Bible Study, the book club, confirmation education, drama for the church school, EFM, Godly Play, the inquirers' class, J2A, Lenten programs, and Rite 13 along with other special programs.

The Caring Commission

Responsible for ensuring that a caring environment is created and maintained at the Church. THis includes the greeters, screen door visits, newcomers dinners, the nursery, coffee hour, picnics, social activities, dinners to go, Easter egg hunt and pastoral care, along with any other activities focused on the well being of the congregation.

The Giving Commission

Responsible for putting our faith into action by reaching out to God's community, serving those less fortunate in our congregation, our community, and our world. This includes our relationship with the Kiwesa Parish in Uganda; our support of Habitat for Humanity; our partnership with the Diocese and the National Church; support of Camp Coast Care; the Seamen's Center; St John's Next-to-New Shop; the Harvest Ingathering for the Claymont Community Center; the Brown Bag concerts; Ronald McDonald House; Chit, Chat, and Charity; Adopted Child; Pennies for Preparedness; the Emmanuel Dining Room and the Grace Episcopal Church Website.
